About The Position
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered on providing a differentiated customer experience for cyclists. The Bike Technician builds and repairs bicycles according to established procedures and uses personal experience, industry research, and trends to recommend products that align with customer needs. The role also supports sales and customer engagement, particularly in the Bike Department, and assists with exercise equipment assembly as needed. Team members are expected to support the broader store team and perform other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and occasionally lift items weighing 15 to 35 pounds, up to five times per hour.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of up to four hours.

- Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide passionate customer service and create a world-class customer experience through customer engagement, particularly in the Bike Department.
- Recommend products based on customer needs, personal experience, and industry research and trends.
- Uphold company merchandise presentation standards.
- Interact with customers to demonstrate passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment to their sport or activity.
- Promote company programs, including warranty sales, the Scorecard loyalty program, private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
- Achieve sales goals through selling bicycles and related merchandise.
- Build and repair bicycles according to established procedures.
- Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
- Maintain Bike Department merchandise presentation standards and signage according to company standards and direction.
- Follow safety, loss prevention, and standard operating policies and procedures, and maintain the confidentiality of company information.
- Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
