About The Position

The Retail Attendant delivers an exceptional shopping experience to guests and visitors of The Monarch San Antonio by providing personalized service, maintaining attractive merchandise displays, and supporting the daily operations of the hotel gift shop. The role assists guests with merchandise selection, processes sales transactions, maintains inventory, and helps ensure the retail environment reflects the hotel’s luxury standards. The Retail Attendant serves as an ambassador of The Monarch through product knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. The position requires reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Duties also include supporting promotions and hotel events and performing other tasks assigned to support hotel operations.

Familiarity with luxury merchandise, specialty gifts, apparel, and accessories.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist guests professionally, provide personalized service, and recommend merchandise.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise, pricing, promotions, and product availability.
Process sales, room charges, returns, and exchanges accurately using the point-of-sale system and established cash-handling procedures.
Maintain attractive, organized, and well-stocked merchandise displays in keeping with the hotel’s presentation standards.
Receive, unpack, price, and restock merchandise; assist with inventory counts and monitor stock levels.
Complete daily opening and closing procedures, including register reconciliation and securing merchandise.
Keep the gift shop, display areas, and storage spaces clean and organized.
Respond professionally to guest inquiries and concerns, coordinating with other hotel departments as needed.
Follow safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures and report concerns to management.
Support special promotions, seasonal displays, and hotel events as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
