About The Position

The Retail Associate supports retail operations at a cultural attraction by serving guests, maintaining merchandise and supplies, processing cash transactions, and keeping the work area clean, safe, and organized. The role works with retail leadership and the warehouse team to replenish products and respond to special requests. Associates are expected to provide memorable guest service, promote sales, follow company policies, and support sustainability, inclusion, and community engagement efforts. Previous experience is not required, and applicants from all education backgrounds are eligible.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment, work independently, and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and Excel.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move and handle boxes weighing 10–35 pounds, including lifting.
• Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill guests’ needs quickly and efficiently.
• Notify retail leadership promptly when item quantities are low or when there are special requests; work with the warehouse team to pull and fill items as necessary.
• Relay relevant customer comments directly to a supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Perform SSA EXTRA Guest Service steps to create a memorable experience for every guest and client.
• Check and stock supplies in counters, floor displays, floor stands, and cabinets neatly, accurately, and promptly.
• Clean tables, chairs, and equipment as needed, and keep counters and floors in work or service areas clean and free of debris.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer when assigned.
• Merchandise products to maximize sales and increase sales through promotional items or suggestive selling.
• Support company and client sustainability and conservation guidelines, apply relevant practices, and provide opportunities to teach unit staff as needed.
• Support community efforts through hiring, engagement activities, and opportunities to give back.
• Promote an inclusive and supportive approach within the brand team and across units, and help remove barriers while empowering team members’ growth and opportunities.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
