Retail Associate
About The Position
Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking Retail Associates to support its stores and its mission of helping people obtain meaningful employment and improve their quality of life. Retail Associates help customers have a pleasant shopping experience and contribute to the success of stores that support Goodwill programs. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Team members may need to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as necessary, particularly when seeking a full-time schedule.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of English.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Availability to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as necessary, especially for a full-time schedule.
- Preparedness for considerable standing, reaching, lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift over 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Assist store customers to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
- Operate a cash register.
- Organize and display goods in the store.
- Accept and process donated items.
- Maintain a clean and neat store.
