About The Position

The Retail Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the overall operation of a Merrell retail store. The role helps drive sales and store KPIs while leading and developing a cohesive, motivated team that delivers memorable customer experiences. The Assistant Manager serves as a role model for the brand, supports an inclusive and positive workplace, and helps maintain store standards and compliance. Working with the Store Manager, this person may contribute ideas for marketing and has opportunities to develop within retail management.

Requirements

Previous experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Passion for the company's brands and brand lifestyles.
Self-starter and ambitious, with motivation to achieve and exceed store targets.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Motivate and engage the team in bringing the brand values to life and promote an inclusive, positive working atmosphere.
Deliver outstanding customer service and model service-focused behavior for the team.
Assist in driving sales, commercial performance, store standards, and relevant KPIs.
Communicate efficiently on the sales floor and behind the scenes.
Build and maintain relationships with customers, community partners, and colleagues across the business.
Partner with the Store Manager to develop innovative and engaging marketing ideas.
Manage stock and execute visual merchandising guidelines.
Educate the team about products and advise customers as a product expert and trainer.
Foster a supportive, productive, and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
Support store operations, including opening and closing, cash handling, stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, presentable store.
Maintain compliance with company policies, including health and safety regulations.
