About The Position

The Retail Assistant General Manager is a hands-on leadership role at a fast-growing cannabis retail organization. The position partners closely with the General Manager to drive store performance, coach teams, and deliver excellent customer experiences. It is designed to prepare the successful candidate for future General Manager responsibilities through mentorship, operational training, and leadership development.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager with daily store operations, including scheduling, compliance, and sales execution.
• Act as General Manager during absences by leading daily briefings, coaching staff, and maintaining operational standards.
• Oversee cash and inventory controls to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with company SOPs and state regulations.
• Drive visual merchandising, online and kiosk menu accuracy, and in-store promotions.
• Coach and develop team members through daily feedback, performance management, and leadership mentoring.
• Collaborate with corporate HR, marketing, and procurement partners to optimize store performance.
• Handle escalated customer concerns and uphold high standards of service.
