About The Position

The Retail Assistant General Manager is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-growing cannabis retail organization. The position supports the General Manager in driving store performance, coaching teams, and delivering excellent customer experiences. It is designed to prepare the successful candidate for future General Manager responsibilities through mentorship, operational training, and leadership development. The Assistant General Manager may act as General Manager during absences and collaborates with corporate HR, marketing, and procurement partners to optimize store performance.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager with daily store operations, including scheduling, compliance, and sales execution.
• Serve as acting General Manager during absences by leading daily briefings, coaching staff, and maintaining operational standards.
• Oversee cash and inventory controls to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with company SOPs and state regulations.
• Drive visual merchandising, online and kiosk menu accuracy, and in-store promotions.
• Coach and develop team members through daily feedback, performance management, and leadership mentoring.
• Collaborate with corporate partners in HR, marketing, and procurement to optimize store performance.
• Handle escalated customer concerns and maintain high standards of service.
