Restitution Program Liaison provides overall program oversight and victim support for the Restitution Recovery Program (RRP). The position requires a self‑motivated individual with strong judgment and communication skills, who will work closely with stakeholders across the criminal justice system to coordinate the restitution process in Alberta. The role has significant influence on program operations and public accountability.

Requirements

  • University graduation in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Public Administration, or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • General understanding of the operations of the criminal justice system
  • Experience working with external clients
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-ministry teams

  • Experience working with members of the public
  • Experience writing for and disseminating data for stakeholders at varying levels
  • Experience working with the criminal justice system or other legal environment
  • Trauma informed work experience or certification
  • Experience working with JOIN and ARTS

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall program oversight and victim support for the Restitution Recovery Program (RRP).
  • Works closely with stakeholders across the criminal justice system to coordinate the restitution process in Alberta.
  • Performs environmental scans to identify risks and best practices.
  • Applies exceptional communication skills when preparing briefings, policy, report writing, and problem solving.
  • Ensures public communication and documents related to the Restitution Recovery Program, Victim Impact Statement and Community Impact Statement are current and appropriate.
  • Works both independently and collaboratively in cross‑ministry teams to promote, develop, and maintain effective communication and strong working relationships across ministries.
