Restaurant Shift Leader - Unit 149
About The Position
The Shift Leader keeps restaurant operations running smoothly and upholds quality, service, and cleanliness standards. The role includes leading shift operations, coaching and motivating team members, supporting operational goals, and maintaining food safety and workplace compliance. The Shift Leader partners with the Restaurant Manager team to develop leadership and shift-management skills and strengthen operational capabilities. The position is based primarily in the home restaurant, with occasional support at neighboring locations or elsewhere within the Market. Participation in business meetings, training, and leadership sessions may also be required.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma/GED or equivalent experience; a high school diploma/GED is preferred.
- Be able to meet business needs and maintain open availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours.
- Maintain dependable attendance.
- Be able to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
- Have experience coaching or leading teams.
- Have strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Possess ServSafe Food Certification or be able to successfully obtain and pass the exam during training.
Responsibilities
- Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
- Coach, train, and motivate team members.
- Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
- Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
- Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
- Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations.
- Partner with the Restaurant Manager team to develop leadership and shift-management capabilities.
- Provide occasional leadership support at neighboring locations or within the Market.
