About The Position

The Restaurant Server provides excellent customer service and helps foster the Niemann Harvest Market culture. The role involves learning about products, supporting product rotation and shrink control, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a safe and clean restaurant environment. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and prior experience are not required. A Food Handler’s Certification is provided at store level when required by state law.

Requirements

• No required education or prior experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively with customers or associates.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Food Handler’s Certification when required by state law; provided at store level.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, handle money, and adapt.
• Detail-oriented, high-energy, and able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Learn and use the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment.
• Use suggestive selling and provide samples.
• Learn the seasonality and taste of products offered, including local vendor products.
• Handle and rotate products properly.
• Promote events and established programs.
• Take food and drink orders; operate the Point of Sale system and accept all forms of tender.
• Serve food and drinks and expedite orders.
• Prepare food and wash dishes.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, removing dinnerware from tables, and cleaning and sanitizing as needed.
• Respond to customer queries and complaints.
• Work within company programs, policies, and procedures; follow Health Code guidelines and store and department policies.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
