About The Position

The Restaurant Server provides guests with high-quality, efficient, and courteous service. The role involves taking food and beverage orders; retrieving and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food; collecting payments; and helping keep service areas and equipment clean. The server is expected to know the restaurant’s menus and specials, accommodate guest requests, monitor guest satisfaction, and help maintain clean, properly sanitized service areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field; such experience is a plus.
English fluency required.
Ability to input and access information in computers.
Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Willingness and ability to stand or walk for the entire shift if needed.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Nice To Haves

Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service is a plus.
Experience in a hotel or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

Approach guests and employees with a smile.
Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurant menus and specials.
Check guests’ identification and serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with applicable laws and company regulations.
Monitor the cleanliness and sanitation of the service bar, bar tables, stations, and service areas.
Take guest orders quickly and accurately.
Accommodate special requests or offer appropriate alternatives.
Check that guests are enjoying their meals and address any problems.
Prepare meal checks and collect payments, including operating the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change, and processing gift cards, room credits, and vouchers.
Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
