About The Position

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Marcus restaurant, bar and lounge operations. This person will be called upon to ensure the fluidity of operations while ensuring compliance with Four Seasons standards. In addition, he must demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills, while ensuring the satisfaction of customers and people under his charge.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French, both orally and in writing
  • An advanced level of English is required to ensure oral and written communication with business partners, stakeholders, suppliers, and a predominantly international clientele
  • Have good resistance to stress and manage it positively and effectively
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a very good team spirit
  • Interest and ability to provide outstanding service to our internal, external guests and our suppliers
  • Have an excellent presentation, good speech, in French and English, and good interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele

  • 5-year experience in restaurant management or related field
  • Post-secondary degree in hotel or restaurant management, administration or related field

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the optimal operation of the restaurant, lounge, and bar by overseeing the smooth flow of daily activities.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, build relationships with regular guests, and create genuine connections with new visitors.
  • Identify guest needs and provide personalized recommendations to elevate the overall experience.
  • Handle guest complaints with the highest level of professionalism in accordance with Four Seasons standards, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic planning and continuous development of all service outlets.
  • Control operating and labor costs by optimizing scheduling, budgets, purchasing decisions, and inventory management while developing creative revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Operations/Restaurants, the Sommelier, and the culinary teams to design appealing menus and wine lists that emphasize quality and value.
  • Communicate regularly with employees and managers to ensure all operational needs are met and participate in interdepartmental meetings to support coordination and cooperation.
  • Assign daily tasks to employees and managers, oversee follow-up, and support strong operational organization.
  • Maintain harmonious and professional collaboration with all hotel colleagues and departments.
  • Communicate and follow up with various hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction and prevent issues or complaints.
  • Review daily reservations to ensure all special requests, regular guests, and group bookings are properly handled and anticipated.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and credit procedures to maintain accurate and responsible operational management.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, coach, and when necessary discipline employees and managers to uphold Four Seasons’ cultural and service standards.
  • Manage staff schedules according to operational needs, promote safe working practices, and contribute to an open, cooperative, and supportive work environment.
  • Perform any other duties related to the role.
