About The Position

The Restaurant Host at Wildflower, located inside the Iron Blosam at Snowbird, facilitates exemplary dining experiences by warmly greeting and seating guests, using names when possible, and maintaining smooth restaurant operations with a waiting-list or reservation program. This is a seasonal, winter-only position. Shifts vary with business needs and may include mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position is expected to start in late November or early December. Employee housing is not available. Hosts must be prepared to stay overnight occasionally if roads close.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Food Handler Permit required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to six months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
• Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Must be prepared to stay overnight occasionally if roads close.
• Ability to exercise judgment within policy guidelines without supervisory approval, solve problems, and initiate activities within the job description.
• Strong understanding of other Snowbird operations.
• Must complete a background check before being hired and comply with professional appearance, drug and alcohol, and employee conduct policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests graciously.
• Manage guest flow using a waiting list; call out the guest’s name and party number when a table becomes available.
• Provide menus and identify the guests’ server after seating them.
• Check each table’s presentation before seating guests.
• Speak with guests to make sure they are satisfied with their dining experience.
• Respond to complaints and help resolve issues with appropriate team members.
• Assist bussers and servers when appropriate.
• Communicate with servers and managers.
• Thank guests as they leave the restaurant.
