About The Position

The Restaurant Host welcomes guests to the Hotel Longmont restaurant, escorts them to their tables, and helps ensure guests have a positive dining experience. The Host works to exceed guest needs and expectations and resolves issues efficiently and effectively to the guest’s satisfaction. The role also supports restaurant operations and coordinates with food and beverage staff to provide great service.

Requirements

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management so they can understand.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Positive, upbeat attitude and personality.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperativeness, and with a minimum of supervision.
Punctuality and reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

Prior food and beverage industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests personally as they enter the establishment.
Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Accept to-go orders over the telephone.
Receive and record dining reservations by telephone.
Ensure the proper setup of the dining room.
Control dining room seating and maintain parity in the number of tables assigned to servers.
Keep stations neat and clean.
Present menus, make recommendations, and take orders if necessary.
Assist other food and beverage staff when necessary.
Liaise between staff and customers to ensure great service.
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
