About The Position
The Restaurant Host maintains an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by greeting arriving customers, seating them, establishing rapport, and assisting with restaurant service. The role includes coordinating information between shifts and management, maintaining the dining room setup, and arranging reservations and special functions. This is a part-time position at B Town Restaurant in Bellingham, Washington, paying $19.13 per hour.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders, and similar written materials.
- Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient English-speaking ability.
Nice To Haves
- Previous restaurant and/or customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet arriving guests, offer seating choices, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
- Read, maintain, and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
- Maintain the proper setup of the dining room.
- Receive and record reservations and make necessary arrangements for restaurant reservations and special functions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
