About The Position

The Yardley Inn, a member of Genesis Hospitality, is a high-volume fine-dining restaurant seeking an experienced, team-oriented Host/Hostess. This is a part-time position requiring availability on weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays. The Host/Hostess monitors dining sections for empty, cleaned tables; estimates wait times and manages the guest waiting list; keeps waiting guests comfortable and informed; answers the telephone and books reservations; and arranges tables for large parties. When a table is available, the Host/Hostess escorts guests to the dining room. After seating guests, the Host/Hostess obtains their drink order and relays it to the responsible food server. The role is performed in a restaurant/banquet environment with noise that is usually moderate to high. Physical demands include regularly using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing; standing and walking are frequent. The job requires close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to focus.

Responsibilities

Monitor open dining sections for empty, cleaned tables.
Estimate guest wait times and review the waiting list.
Keep waiting guests comfortable and informed about the status of their wait.
Answer the telephone and book reservations.
Move tables together to accommodate large parties.
Escort guests to the dining room when a table is available.
Obtain seated guests’ drink orders and pass the information to the responsible food server.
