About The Position

The Restaurant Busser at Seneca Cafe provides fast, friendly, and courteous service to guests while supporting restaurant operations. The role includes attending to guests, clearing and resetting tables, completing opening and closing side work, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and assisting other employees as needed. Duties must be performed in accordance with Seneca Gaming Corporation policies, procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. The position offers a reliable base pay plus tips, with a starting rate of $10.70; compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old upon employment.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees.
Ability to interact well with customers and employees and resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Ability to speak English clearly, retain details, and interact with the public.
Ability to perform physical work including walking, standing, turning, bending, lifting, and carrying.
Ability to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use fingers and hands for lifting and grasping.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; the duties also describe carrying trays weighing up to 60 pounds.
Ability to talk to and hear customers and coworkers, and visual acuity to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.
Ability to maintain physical stamina and a proper mental attitude under pressure in a fast-paced environment and deal effectively with customers, management, employees, and business-community members.
Must complete all required Seneca Gaming Corporation training programs within nine months of commencement of employment.
Must meet the job's attendance guidelines and comply with applicable regulatory, departmental, company, and information-security policies.

Responsibilities

Report to work on time, well-groomed, in full uniform, and wearing the required badge.
Balance and carry trays to tables; trays may weigh up to 60 pounds.
Treat guests, coworkers, and management hospitably, politely, and with positive body language.
Support the philosophy and goals of Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino.
Perform duties assigned by the manager or shift manager and assist other employees when required.
Work in a designated area, remain attentive to guests, and strive to exceed guest expectations.
Answer guest inquiries using knowledge of property history, maps, restrooms, telephones, and store and restaurant hours.
Maintain knowledge of menus, wine lists, and daily specials, and stay aware of activity in each station.
Clear and reset tables according to the bus person manual.
Complete designated opening and closing side work, and check with a manager or shift manager before clocking out.
Maintain current knowledge of information-security policies and procedures, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy, and comply with them.
Meet attendance guidelines and follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Complete required Seneca Gaming Corporation training programs within nine months of starting employment and attend necessary meetings.
Maintain a neat, organized workstation; check chairs for crumbs; remove floor debris; and sweep carpets when needed.
Clean and organize tray stands daily.
Maintain the bread area and other kitchen areas as needed, promptly wipe up spills, and clean walls on the server side and in the back-of-house dish area when needed.
Perform repetitive physical tasks and assist customers with special needs as required.
