About The Position

The Restaurant Busser at Cheeca Lodge and Spa supports a smooth, enjoyable guest dining experience by assisting wait staff, replenishing food-service supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant. The role requires a welcoming, professional demeanor and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Bussers respond positively to guest inquiries and, with a supervisor’s assistance, help resolve issues or complaints. They also promote hotel amenities and services using their knowledge and effective selling techniques.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English and have basic food and beverage knowledge.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to high-quality guest service.
• Ability to walk, stand, and carry plates, glassware, and silverware between dining tables and the dishwashing room.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Communication in other languages is helpful.
• Ability to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when dealing with upset guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and help them feel welcome upon arrival.
• Clear used tableware, napkins, and refuse from tables and transport them to designated areas.
• Wipe tables and chairs and clear debris and crumbs from the floor around each table.
• Reset tables according to established standards so they are ready for new guests.
• Transport full tubs of used items from bus stations to the dishwashing area.
• Keep the bus station clean, orderly, and well stocked.
• Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware, and utensils from the dishroom and distribute them to service stations.
• Polish glassware and silverware.
• Check tables for missing items and promptly replace them or address discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, presentable, and attractive restaurant environment.
• Clean floors as requested.
• Retrieve and fold clean linens according to established standards, and keep service stations properly stocked.
• Keep the work area clean and compliant with Board of Health standards.
• Attend relevant team briefings and maintain a professional appearance.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor; respond positively to guest inquiries and assist with resolving complaints alongside a supervisor.
• Promote hotel amenities and services to guests using personal knowledge and effective selling techniques.
