About The Position

The Washington Crossing Inn is seeking a team-oriented candidate for the Busser position. No experience is required, and on-site training is available. Candidates must be willing to work weekends and/or holidays if needed. The busser supports efficient restaurant operations by preparing and clearing tables, assisting guests and servers, and coordinating with the server and hostess. The role is performed in a restaurant environment with noise levels that are usually moderate to high. Employees regularly use their hands, reach with their arms, and talk or hear; they frequently stand and walk. The job requires close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to focus. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Obtain a service-area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
Promptly greet guests as they are seated.
Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for the next course.
Clear tables after guests leave.
Take tableware to the dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, and other items in appropriate areas for washing.
Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and booths between seating.
Check the floor and clean it as required.
Respond appropriately to guests’ requests and communicate requests as needed.
Communicate with the server and hostess to support efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
Assist servers with food delivery as needed, especially for large parties and during peak periods.
Thank guests as they are leaving.
Fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient diner operations, as directed by the manager or immediate supervisor.
