About The Position

The Restaurant Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. The role includes setting up and stocking the bar, preparing garnishes and perishables, taking and preparing drink orders, handling guest payments, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The bartender must follow applicable liquor regulations, check guest identification, and respond appropriately to guest inebriation.

Responsibilities

Follow state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, including rules for serving minors and intoxicated guests.
Set up assigned bars and requisition and stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.
Maintain stock and prepare, cure, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality.
Greet guests courteously and in a friendly manner.
Take and/or process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control.
Check guests at the bar for proper identification.
Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
Lock up and store beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash drops; secure the bank.
Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with health and safety standards.
Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive bar display.
Wash and sterilize stemware.
Perform other duties as assigned.
