About The Position

The Restaurant Server takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. The role includes providing welcoming, attentive service, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, communicating guest requests to kitchen staff, and helping keep the dining room clean and properly set up.

Responsibilities

• Greet dining room guests promptly and warmly, take food and beverage orders efficiently, and follow established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards; follow up on guests’ additional needs or requests.
• Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Handle personal or medical information shared with sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to a supervisor.
• Set up the dining room before service, maintain cleanliness during service, and clean and reset the area afterward in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
