About The Position

The Restaurant Associate is a Host and serves as the first and last point of contact for restaurant guests. The role involves greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests while maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. The Host diligently and efficiently manages seating in Eataly’s restaurants and reports to the Restaurant Manager.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the general functioning of the dining room during meal service, relaying information to managers and service personnel.
Maintain an accurate, fair, and up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system.
Take and manage reservations in restaurants that allow reservations.
Balance guest flow among service stations, considering requests for a particular table or server depending on availability.
Inform guests when tables are ready, escort them to tables, provide menus, and introduce the server.
Assist servers and bus persons as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
