About The Position

A Host is the first and last point of contact for restaurant guests, responsible for greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests while maintaining restaurant flow during service. The Host diligently and efficiently manages seating in Eataly’s restaurants and reports to the Restaurant Manager. The role is onsite with a flexible schedule that often includes evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general functioning of the dining room during meal service and relay information to managers and service personnel.
• Maintain an accurate, fair, and up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system.
• Take and manage reservations in restaurants that allow reservations.
• Balance guest flow among service stations, accounting for requests for particular tables or servers based on availability.
• Inform guests when tables are ready, escort them to tables, provide menus, and introduce the server.
• Assist servers and bus persons as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
