About The Position

A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. The role requires knowledge of coffee menu items and the ability to provide high-quality, fast-paced service while working at multiple quick-service counters. The Barista reports to the QSR General Manager and the QSR Assistant General Managers.

Requirements

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for coffee, tea, drink preparation, and products.
Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow production directions.
Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
Ability to operate a manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale system.
Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso preparation.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of barista experience using a manual espresso machine.
High school diploma.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters.
Provide exceptional guest service and explain product details, such as coffee blends and preparation methods.
Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, separating allergens such as nuts and wheat.
Date items and follow First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans according to guest specifications.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring accurate cash drops and authentic bills.
Clean and sanitize work areas in accordance with the supervising health agency’s requirements.
Work across QSR counters serving pastry, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
