About The Position

A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. The role requires knowledge of coffee menu items, high-quality and fast-paced guest service, and the ability to work at multiple quick-service counters performing various functions. The Barista reports to the QSR General Manager and QSR Assistant General Managers.

The position is onsite and requires a flexible schedule that often includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends. The hourly rate is $15.50 plus tips.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for coffee, tea, drink preparation, and products.
• Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow production directions.
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to operate equipment such as a manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale system.
• Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of barista experience on a manual espresso machine.
• High school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters.
• Provide exceptional guest service and explain product details, such as coffee blends and preparation methods.
• Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, keeping allergens such as nuts and wheat separated.
• Ensure items are dated and follow First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
• Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans according to guests’ specifications.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and ensure cash drops are accurate and bills are authentic.
• Clean and sanitize work areas according to the supervising health agency’s requirements.
• Work across QSR counters serving pastries, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
