Full Time or Part Time Respite Nanny Jobs in Irvine, CA | Flexible Childcare Position
About The Position
Jovie is hiring compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide in-home respite care for children with support needs throughout the Orange County area. The role involves creating fun, engaging experiences for children while supporting their families. Relevant childcare experience may come from nannying, babysitting, daycare, preschool, church nursery, paraprofessional work, camp counseling, or other professional childcare settings; experience caring for family and friends does not qualify. The position is offered as full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling. Monday–Friday availability is preferred. Most shifts occur between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and typically last 4–8 hours. Caregivers work with vetted local families, and assignments may involve one or multiple families based on family needs, caregiver availability, and scheduling preferences. Most assignments involve infants and toddlers, though some may include older children. Pay is $18–$21 per hour, plus $2 per hour for each additional sibling in the caregiver’s care and overtime pay. Eligible full-time team members may also receive PTO, paid holidays, healthcare stipends, and retirement savings matching. Jovie offers paid training and professional development, employer-sponsored CPR and First Aid, a supportive leadership team, a scheduling app, and reward and recognition programs. Pay is issued every two weeks.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of infant childcare experience.
- Enjoy working with infants.
- Be dependable and professional.
- Communicate well with parents and children.
- Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Provide at least two references related to childcare work and one character reference.
- Be at least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Monday–Friday availability is preferred.
- Experience as a nanny, babysitter, daycare or preschool teacher, church nursery caregiver, paraprofessional, camp counselor, or in another professional childcare setting is welcomed.
