About The Position

Jovie is hiring compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide in-home respite care for children with support needs throughout the Orange County area. The role involves creating safe, fun, and engaging experiences for children while providing families with support. Relevant childcare experience may include nannying, babysitting, daycare, preschool, church nursery, paraprofessional work, camp counseling, or other professional childcare settings. Experience with family and friends does not count toward the stated experience requirement.

The position is based in Santa Ana, California, and offers full-time or part-time work. Pay is $18–$21 per hour, plus $2 per hour for each additional sibling in the caregiver’s care and overtime pay. Monday–Friday availability is preferred. Most shifts occur between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and typically last 4–8 hours. Assignments vary according to family needs, caregiver availability, and scheduling preferences; most involve infants and toddlers, with occasional opportunities to care for older children. Caregivers work with vetted local families.

The hiring process includes application review, an interview, screening and reference checks, an offer if qualified, orientation and training, and matching with families based on experience and availability. Pay is issued every two weeks.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of infant childcare experience.
• Enjoy working with infants.
• Dependable and professional.
• Able to communicate well with parents and children.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• At least two references related to childcare work and one character reference.
• At least 18 years old.
• Childcare experience must come from professional settings; experience working with family and friends is not included.

Nice To Haves

• Monday–Friday availability is preferred.
