About The Position

MultiCare is seeking a student enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within Washington State for its Intern program. Under the general supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, the intern provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, limited to procedures completed in the associated Respiratory Care School curriculum. The intern also serves as an equipment assistant for MultiCare Respiratory Care Departments. The position is 0.9 FTE, with variable shifts, 12-hour schedules, and rotating weekends. The role is based at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital, a 226-bed not-for-profit hospital serving the Yakima Valley. Compensation is listed at $23.00 per hour, with pay potentially influenced by the applicant’s skills, experience, certifications, and education. Requirements

Current BLS certification.
Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within Washington State.
Currently in the junior year of a four-year Respiratory Program, or completing the first year of a two-year academic program.

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care to the assigned patient population under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, limited to procedures completed in the associated school curriculum.
Clean, assemble, and maintain respiratory equipment.
Distribute equipment and supplies within facilities.
Assess non-stock par levels and communicate ordering needs.
Assist with special projects as delegated by the leadership team.
