About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a PRN Respiratory Therapist for acute care and ventilator management at a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) in Columbia, Missouri. The position pays $51.41 per hour. PRN workers select available shifts through an app, with instant confirmations and the ability to schedule ahead as shifts become available. The schedule is primarily nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Central Time, with occasional day shifts. Shifts are 12 hours long. The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care under physician orders, including ventilator management and weaning. Duties also include aerosol and nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, airway clearance, drawing and analyzing ABGs where applicable, responding to rapid responses and codes, documenting care accurately, and following infection-control and equipment-safety protocols.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of acute hospital Respiratory Therapist experience; ventilator experience is required.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Active Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Hepatitis B series or titer.
- MMR series or titer.
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
- Varicella series or titer.
Nice To Haves
- Critical care experience preferred.
- NBRC credential; RRT preferred.
