About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a per diem/PRN Respiratory Therapist for acute care at an acute care hospital in Marrero, Louisiana. The role pays $48.50 per hour. PRN staff choose available shifts using an app, with instant confirmations. Orientation shifts are scheduled for days, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM CT, and are 9.5 hours long. Orientations are happening now; candidates can get credentialed while openings are available.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of acute care hospital respiratory therapy experience; the posting specifies experience within the last 5 years.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license.
- NBRC credential: RRT or CRT.
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Hepatitis B series or titer.
- MMR series or titer.
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
- Varicella series or titer.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care under physician orders, including ventilator management and weaning.
- Administer aerosol and nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance.
- Draw and analyze ABGs where applicable and respond to rapid responses and codes.
- Accurately document care and follow infection control and equipment safety protocols.
