About The Position

VitalHire is hiring a per diem/PRN Respiratory Therapist for acute care at a hospital in Marrero, Louisiana. Orientation shifts are currently available. Respiratory therapists can use an app to select available shifts and receive instant confirmations, choosing shifts as far into the future as availability allows.

The role provides respiratory care under physician orders, including ventilator management and weaning, aerosol and nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance. It also involves drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases where applicable, responding to rapid responses and codes, documenting care accurately, and following infection-control and equipment-safety protocols.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of acute-care hospital Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license.
• NBRC credential (RRT or CRT).
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Hepatitis B series or titer.
• MMR series or titer.
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
• Varicella series or titer.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care under physician orders, including ventilator management and weaning.
• Administer aerosol and nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance.
• Draw and analyze ABGs where applicable and respond to rapid responses and codes.
• Accurately document care and follow infection-control and equipment-safety protocols.
