About The Position

VitalHire is hiring a per diem Respiratory Therapist for acute care and ventilator management at a long-term acute care hospital in Columbia, Missouri. The role pays $51.41 per hour and is scheduled primarily for night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM CT, with occasional day shifts. Shifts are 12 hours. The therapist provides respiratory care under physician orders, including ventilator management and weaning, aerosol and nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance. The position also involves drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases where applicable, responding to rapid responses and codes, documenting care accurately, and following infection-control and equipment-safety protocols.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of acute hospital respiratory therapy experience.
• Ventilator experience is required.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Active Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Hepatitis B series or titer.
• MMR series or titer.
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
• Varicella series or titer.

Nice To Haves

• Critical care experience is preferred.
• NBRC credential; RRT is preferred.

Responsibilities
