About The Position

The Resource Director of Nursing (DON) supports facilities when a facility Director of Nursing is absent or when additional resources or oversight are needed. The role manages overall Nursing Department operations in accordance with company policies, nursing practice standards, reimbursement compliance requirements, and governmental regulations to maintain excellent resident care. It also focuses on validating and correcting processes and systems and helping nursing stakeholders provide the best care possible. The role requires extensive weekday travel to assigned sites, including regular overnight stays.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse licensure.
• Ability to obtain multistate licensure.
• At least five years of related experience.
• Ability to travel to assigned sites Monday through Friday, with 80%–90% travel and weekly overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall Nursing Department operations during the absence of a facility Director of Nursing, following company policies, nursing practice standards, reimbursement compliance requirements, and governmental regulations.
• Respond to situations in facilities requiring additional resources or oversight, with emphasis on process and systems validation and correction.
• Assist with developing and implementing job-skills training and in-service education for the nursing department as required by state and federal regulations.
• Support and train stakeholders to provide the best possible care to residents.
