About The Position

The Resource Director of Nursing (DON) provides nursing leadership and operational support at assigned facilities when a facility Director of Nursing is absent or when additional resources or oversight are needed. The role manages the Nursing Department in accordance with company policies, nursing practice standards, reimbursement compliance requirements, and governmental regulations to support excellent resident care. The position also focuses on validating and correcting processes and systems, and supporting the development and delivery of job-skills training and in-service education for nursing staff as required by state and federal regulations. The role requires travel to assigned sites Monday through Friday, with weekly overnight stays and approximately 80%–90% travel.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse licensure.
• Ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
• At least five years of related experience.
• Ability to travel 80%–90%, with overnight stays.
• Ability to travel to assigned sites Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of a facility’s Nursing Department during the absence of its Director of Nursing.
• Follow company policies, nursing practice standards, reimbursement compliance requirements, and governmental regulations.
• Respond to facilities where additional resources or oversight are required, emphasizing process and systems validation and correction.
• Assist with developing and implementing job-skills training and in-service education for the nursing department as required by state and federal regulations.
• Travel to assigned sites Monday through Friday, including weekly overnight stays.
