Director of Nursing (DON)
About The Position
Oil City Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team and oversee clinical operations at its skilled nursing facility in Oil City, Pennsylvania. The DON is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for supporting high-quality resident care and strong patient outcomes. The role includes managing the nursing department, developing staff, maintaining relationships with residents and families, supporting regulatory compliance, and collaborating with medical staff and other departments on care plans. The DON also contributes nursing leadership expertise in clinical operations, staffing, and budget management, and fosters a supportive environment that promotes professional growth.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior-level leadership role, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
- Proven track record of driving clinical excellence, improving patient satisfaction, and reducing readmissions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction and management of the nursing department, including staff development, recruitment, and retention.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and reduce readmissions.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
