About The Position

Heinzerling Community is seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Home Assistants to support residents with developmental disabilities. The role provides assistance to staff in resident living areas by maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, making beds, and transporting residents to and from the bus stop and designated areas. The position supports residents with certain daily tasks and activities, while documenting activities and progress as directed by the Unit Manager. This is not a direct caregiving position. The available shift is 2nd shift, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The base pay is $15.25 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential and $2.00 per hour weekend shift differential. Applicants must successfully pass a background check and drug screen. Heinzerling Community is a substance-free workplace and does not accommodate the use of drugs or medical marijuana.

Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to push residents weighing up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to speak, hear, and remain alert and awake for the entire shift.
Ability to assist with the care of male and female residents.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Maintain general cleanliness of resident living areas, including activity rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
Stock supplies in designated areas and assist with mealtime setup.
Assist residents with daily tasks, such as brushing their teeth, and support participation in designated programs and activities.
Transport residents to and from designated areas while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Document resident activities and progress as directed by the Unit Manager.
