About The Position

Navion of Rocky Mount is seeking a caring and dependable Resident Care Aide to provide hands-on support with residents’ daily activities and build meaningful relationships with them. The role is a part-time opportunity scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The position involves assisting residents with personal care and daily living needs, coordinating with medical and caregiving professionals, and following safety and infection-control practices. Team members can use Tapcheck, a mobile app that provides access to earned wages before payday.

Requirements

• Passion for the senior population.
• High school diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently with direction from a team leader or manager while maintaining efficient and consistent communication.
• Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence.
• Ability to endure high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
• Keep residents’ information confidential in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating residents and delivering food and beverages.
• Help residents with personal hygiene, including bathing and using bedpans.
• Provide adjunct patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings.
• Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for medical and nursing staff.
• Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures.
• Report safety violations.
