About The Position

Navion of Rocky Mount is seeking a caring and dependable Resident Assistant to provide hands-on support with residents’ daily activities and build meaningful relationships with them. The role involves helping residents feel comfortable, supported, and at home while working with physicians, caregivers, nurses, and other staff. This is a part-time position scheduled from 3 PM to 7 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager, while maintaining efficient and consistent communication.
Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
Passion for the senior population.

Nice To Haves

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
Protect the confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Assist residents with daily living activities, including turning, ambulating, and delivering food and beverages.
Help residents with personal hygiene, including providing bedpans and assisting with bathing.
Provide adjunct care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings or providing baths for comfort after therapy.
Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for communication to medical and nursing staff.
Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
Follow fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
