About The Position

Navion of Rocky Mount is hiring a part-time Cook to prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals with care for residents. The role contributes to a welcoming dining experience and helps ensure residents receive high-quality service. The Cook works with a team and follows food safety and sanitation requirements. Team members can use Tapcheck, a mobile app that provides access to earned wages before payday.

Requirements

• Maintain a current ServSafe food services sanitation certificate, or be able to participate in training to become ServSafe certified.
• A high school diploma or GED is accepted.
• Have one year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
• Be at least 16 years old. In North Carolina, be at least 18 years old if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer or mixer.
• Be able to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others.
• Be able to work well with others and promote a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary apprenticeship or training.
• Three years of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment.
• Culinary arts experience.
• CPR and First-Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Follow safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Provide pleasant, friendly, helpful, proper, and timely service.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow dress requirements.
