About The Position

Navion of Rocky Mount is seeking a caring and dependable Resident Care Aide to provide hands-on support with residents’ daily activities and build meaningful relationships with them. The role focuses on helping residents feel comfortable, supported, and at home. This is a part-time position with a 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. schedule.

Team members can use Tapcheck, a mobile app that provides access to earned wages before payday. The position requires compassion for the senior population, dependable communication, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, time-sensitive care environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager while maintaining efficient, consistent communication.
• Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with health professionals in residents’ presence.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while remaining calm and professional.
• Passion for the senior population.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating patients and delivering food and beverages.
• Help patients with personal hygiene, including providing bedpans and assisting with bathing.
• Provide additional patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings or providing baths for comfort after therapy sessions.
• Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for communication to medical and nursing staff.
• Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
