Reporting Specialist

Luster National•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool of Reporting Specialists at various skill levels for future roles supporting large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs. Projects may include highways, roads, bridges, bus and rail transit, international airports, and water/wastewater, delivered through traditional and alternative methods. This is a future-opportunity posting, not a currently available position. Selected candidates will be activated in the talent pool and notified first when relevant project needs arise. Reporting Specialists produce recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual program reporting packages for leadership, funding agencies, and oversight bodies. The work includes collecting, verifying, reconciling, and controlling the versions of project inputs and supporting records, and ensuring reporting packages are complete, accurate, traceable, and distributed on schedule. Depending on experience, the role may lead the reporting cycle from data cutoff through review and distribution. It also includes preparing exhibits and briefing materials, applying consistent reporting standards, coordinating across program teams, and assembling supporting documentation for funding, grants, and oversight reporting. Work weighted primarily toward data models, queries, and dashboards is more aligned with the data analyst bank; work weighted toward plans, procedures, and controlled documents is more aligned with the technical writer bank.

  • Lead or support the reporting cycle from data cutoff through review and distribution, track outstanding inputs, and follow up on late or missing submissions to meet publication dates.
  • Collect reporting inputs from project teams, consultants, and contractors, and verify figures and status statements against source records in program management information systems (PMIS), cost systems, and schedule systems.
  • Review contractor and consultant reporting submissions for completeness and compliance with contractual reporting requirements, and return nonconforming submissions.
  • Reconcile differences among contractor reports, PMIS records, and other program records, escalating unresolved discrepancies before publication.
