About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for a Service Advisor to join our team! As a member of the rental team, the Inside Sales Representative (ISR) contributes to the annual growth of rental revenues, including the maintenance of rental equipment, by utilizing both proactive sales strategies and by responding to incoming inquiries via phone, the rental website, and other sources. The ISR also supports external rental account managers, including preparing quotations and coordinating deliveries.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with a technical focus, along with 2 to 5 years of customer-facing experience.
  • Technical knowledge of the industry or a related field (power generation, distribution).
  • General technical understanding of diesel engines, generators, compressor equipment, and transfer switches.
  • Strong customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to meet targets in a fast-paced, demanding environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Business and financial acumen with engaging presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with contact management systems and MS Office applications.
  • Bilingual (English).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safe work practices in compliance with Toromont’s established standards.
  • Build and manage relationships with small to mid-sized customers.
  • Support outside sales and directly contribute to achieving annual revenue targets, including handling inbound inquiries, quotations, and logistics coordination.
  • Distribute new rental leads and share market intelligence with the team regarding rental trends and competitors.
  • Contribute to the development and administration of marketing programs for the Power rental division.
  • Prepare rental equipment quotations and occasionally review technical and commercial specifications.
  • Maintain the rental management system (IRS) to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Follow up on quotations and report on win/loss results.
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections as needed and help resolve rental-related issues or disputes.
  • Participate in rotating after-hours on-call support.
  • Maintain related systems such as SalesLink, including call reports, weekly call plans, and other administrative support tasks.
