Rental Counter Specialist
About The Position
Best Line Equipment is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Rental Counter Specialist for its Keyport, New Jersey location. The role oversees rental contracts, coordinates equipment deliveries and pickups, monitors rental equipment status, and generates and closes rental contracts. The specialist helps customers—from homeowners to construction and industrial professionals—identify and obtain the appropriate construction, industrial, and heavy equipment. The position also supports local equipment deliveries as needed, combining customer service, equipment coordination, and hands-on work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and ability to operate a rollback truck or tractor-trailer for local equipment deliveries as needed.
- At least six months of relevant experience in a similar position, with an understanding of a wide range of construction equipment, such as industrial, aerial, and heavy equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and fellow employees.
- Ability to assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment as needed.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, customer-focused, and able to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls from internal and external customers.
- Confirm reservations for customer will-call and delivery orders, as well as pickups.
- Provide information to customers by telephone or in person about rented equipment; locate and transfer equipment when necessary.
- Keep transaction records, including customer billing cycles, logged pickups, equipment calls, and equipment transfer information.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment for customers and drivers.
- Assist with local equipment deliveries as needed by operating a rollback truck or tractor-trailer.
- Support inside and outside sales personnel.
- Perform clerical and housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean, presentable store.
- Oversee rental contracts, coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups, monitor rental equipment status, and generate and close rental contracts.
- Help customers identify and secure appropriate construction, industrial, and heavy equipment.
