About The Position

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Renewable Energy Civil Engineer/Project Manager. In this role, you will work on a wide variety of projects for renewable energy clients, including solar, battery storage (BESS), and wind projects. Project tasks may include site layout, grading, access road design, stormwater/drainage studies, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. Work encompasses entire projects from due diligence and conceptual/preliminary design through final design, construction, and record drawing phases. This position includes opportunities to serve as Project Manager for various renewable energy projects. Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
  • 10-20 years of civil engineering experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience required
  • Ability and willingness to manage and contribute to several projects concurrently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Ability to travel and have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in solar, BESS, wind or similar renewable energy projects preferred
  • Design experience on wind, solar and/or BESS projects preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead civil engineering technical support and design for the development of renewable energy projects (conceptual through final design and construction), as part of an engineering team.
  • Prepare, develop, and review civil engineering design and construction plans and related documents.
  • Provide project management working directly with the Client’s project manager.
  • Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies.
  • Prepare project proposals.
  • Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants.
  • Communicate with clients regarding current and future projects.
  • Supervise, train and mentor younger engineers.
