About The Position

Kimley-Horn's The Woodlands, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join its Renewable Energy team. This is not a remote position. The role involves working with engineers and designers on a variety of renewable energy projects, building professional relationships, and collaborating with industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Experience in the Energy discipline, including design, permitting, and applicable software applications.
• Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting with project management tasks.
• Familiarity with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to build plan sets and other construction documents.
• Design experience including utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Work on pipeline design, solar site design, battery storage design, and EV charging design projects.
• Support project due diligence and evaluate site constraints.
• Coordinate jurisdictional permitting and agency interactions.
• Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.
• Coordinate with clients, attend client meetings, and oversee quality standards.
• Assist with task management, concept design, and project management tasks.
• Develop plan sets and other construction documents.
