About The Position

Kimley-Horn's The Woodlands, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with at least four years of experience to join its Renewable Energy team. This is not a remote position. The role involves collaborating with engineers, designers, industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors on a variety of renewable energy projects. The position offers opportunities to build meaningful professional relationships, contribute to project delivery, and support quality standards.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Experience in the Energy discipline, including design, permitting, and applicable software applications.
• Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting with project management tasks.
• Familiarity with client coordination and attending client meetings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Design experience involving utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Work on renewable energy projects involving pipeline design, solar site design, battery storage design, and EV charging design.
• Support project due diligence and assessment of site constraints.
• Assist with jurisdictional permitting and agency coordination.
• Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.
• Coordinate with clients, attend client meetings, and oversee quality standards.
• Develop plan sets and other construction documents.
