About The Position

SAIC is seeking a full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join its Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Tampa International ATCT/TRACON in Tampa, Florida. The position supports Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic controller training services. This is not a UAS, UAV, RPV, or drone pilot position. The RPO plays the role of pilots and other controllers in an air traffic control training simulator. Using a simulated radar display and voice communication system, the RPO simulates pilot actions and communications with remote ATC facilities during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises. The operator receives voice commands from students, enters appropriate information into the automated system, translates displayed information into ATC terminology, and responds to students through the voice communication system using proper phraseology. Candidates must complete classroom certification, including passing a test on airspace and procedures, and lab certification, demonstrating performance as an RPO on all positions.
