About The Position

SAIC is seeking a full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join its Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Memphis ARTCC (ZME) in Memphis, Tennessee. The RPO supports air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by playing the roles of pilots and other controllers in an ATC training simulator. The RPO operates a simulated radar display and voice communication system during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises. The role involves receiving voice commands from students, entering information into an automated system to simulate pilot actions, translating displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology, and responding to students through the voice communication system using proper phraseology. Candidates must complete classroom certification, including a test on airspace and procedures, and lab certification, demonstrating performance as an RPO on all positions. The FAA trains new air traffic control specialists and provides recurrent training to current specialists. Contractor-provided instructional services support these training needs at FAA facilities throughout the United States and its territories.
