About The Position

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122-bed facility specializing in general adult psychiatric, adolescent, geriatric, and women's services. The hospital is located in southwest Houston, serving the Houston and surrounding communities. Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is conveniently located between the Galleria and Meyerland shopping districts, and is only minutes away from the Houston Medical Center, Downtown, and Midtown. Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders. The Relief Nurse Supervisor (RN) provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing department staff throughout the hospital during their assigned shift. The Nursing Supervisor promotes quality patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Minimum of three (3) years inpatient nursing required.
• Currently licensed as an RN to practice as issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
• Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, Medicare, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
• Supervise nursing department staff and regularly evaluate staff work performance.
• Make effective decisions regarding patient care in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
• Maintain communication between hospital Administration, Nursing Administration, and department leaders.
