About The Position

Benchmark Community Bank is hiring a full-time, outgoing, service-oriented Teller for its South Hill branch. The Teller is a first point of contact for customers, providing a welcoming experience and building customer relationships while processing routine financial transactions. The role also uses knowledge of the bank’s products and services to recommend options that address customers’ current and future financial needs. The Teller maintains an accurately balanced cash drawer and follows appropriate controls, security procedures, and check-cashing guidelines while handling cash and entering information into a computer. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on alternating Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The posted pay range is $17.00 to $22.60 per hour.

Requirements

Excellent relationship-building skills.
Experience working with the public and handling money.
Basic math skills.
Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of previous banking experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and serve as the first point of contact at the South Hill branch.

Efficiently process routine financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, checks, and loan payments.
Recommend financial products and services to meet customers’ current and future needs.
Maintain a cash drawer and ensure it balances at the end of each day.

Enter information into a computer and watch for fraudulent activity.
